What I Want To Do

      AMYA is The Alaska Military Youth Academy, it is in Anchorage Alaska. Anyone between the ages 16-18 can join. To get in you have to fill out an application and want a GED or High School Diploma. Some people go because they want to do better in their lives. Others might go just to challenge them selves.
     Im going because I need the credits for school. Another reason Im going is I think that I need the discipline and structure. I also want to go to challenge myself to see if I can make it to the end of the session. I also want to straighten up and make better choices in my life. I also want to see if the Academy can help me figure out want I want to do when I graduate from High School.
     Before you get accepted you get Interviewed. My interview was three days ago and I got interviewed by a lady. She explained to me what my days would look like and how I would have to address my supervisors. Every question that she asked me I had to answer with ma'am no ma'am or ma'am yes ma'am. My interview included why I want to go and why I should get accepted.
      Im excited about going to the Academy because I know that it is going to be a good challenge. Im also excited about just going to the Academy and experiencing the challenges. Another reason Im excited about going is i want to see what it is like to be pushed hard. Im nervous about how hard they are going to push us for physical training. Im also nervous about how they are going to have our days planned.
      I hope to get structure and discipline out of my experience at the Academy. I do expect it to change my life because of the stories i've heard about it. I expect that it will make my decision making a lot better. I expect that going will make me want better for myself. Going to the Academy is something that I really look forward to.
